A spooky, rainy, rural nighttime scene.

In southeast Missouri, outside Advance, headed east toward Painton on State Highway O, is a curve. It’s not the tightest curve I’ve ever seen — and not the loosest, either — but thanks to my mom, I grew up knowing that curve by its unofficial moniker: Dead Man’s Curve.
